The white Hart has seen many changes in the time since we had the buyout by 70 shareholders back in late 2014. It was always our intention to put the bar itself back into it’s original position across the rear wall instead of diagonally at the far end where once a fireplace had been. It would also enable easier access to the pool room instead of via a very low doorway which had caused many a headache for the taller customers.

It was four years before we were in a position to be able to afford the renovation & all the upheaval it would involve. Especially having to close for a long period of time.

Back in November 2019 was the date we decided to do the work, allowing a month to do it all. This was a pretty tight schedule, but using all local tradesmen who knew our intention, we started.

This all went according to plan & as well as the bar being replaced it was decided to put a stone fireplace back on the rear wall. These changes created a completely different atmosphere, which makes for lovely toasty evenings in the bar even on the worst winter nights. It was such a surprise when, instead of people asking what was happening with the heating, they were actually asking for the windows to be opened because it was too hot.

We hope that the White Hart will now provide all our visitors with a comfortable & enjoyable experience, where they can have a social evening with old friends & meet new ones too.

We offer a wide range of beers & lagers, with guest ales also on sale for those of you who like a wide selection of drinks. We like to think that the wines are pretty good too.
