The White Hart has seen many changes since the buyout by 70 shareholders in late 2014. It was always our intention to move the bar back to its original position across the rear wall instead of diagonally across the far wall where there had once been a fireplace. Moving it would also improve the access to the Pool room instead of a very low doorway which had caused many a headache for the taller customers!

However, it would be over four years before we could afford these renovations and manage the upheaval they would cause, including closure for a few weeks. Work finally commenced in November 2019, with much of it done by volunteers and the rest by local tradesmen. It was a tight schedule, but all went to plan and as well as the new and re-positioned bar, it was decided to add a new stone fireplace and log burner on the rear wall.

These changes created a completely different atmosphere and made for lovely toasty evenings even on the worst winter nights. Imagine our surprise when, instead of people asking about the lack of heating, they were actually wanting to open windows as it was too hot!

We hope that the White Hart will now provide all our visitors with a comfortable and enjoyable experience where they can socialise with old friends and meet new ones too! We offer a wide range of beers and lagers and have guest ales to give plenty of variety and choice. We also like to think that our wines are pretty good!
