Located on High Street, in the centre of the historic village of Alton, near to Alton Towers.
In the village and local countryside there are lovely riverside walks, lakes, woodlands, and historic buildings – including the magnificent Alton Castle by Pugin, overlooking the beautiful Churnet Valley.
We are on the Staffordshire Way and close to Dimmingsdale, Uttoxeter Racecourse, Churnet Valley railway and the lovely market town of Ashbourne with its antique shops.
As well as being surrounded by gorgeous countryside we have an area of allotments behind the Pub, cultivated by our local residents
Having installed a children’s play area in the garden at the rear of the Hart in 2024, it is proving to be a very popular addition to the village.
It is suitable for 2-9 year olds & we do hope that their parents keep a close eye on them & report back to the bar if any they find any damage that could cause injuries to the children.
