Alton Beer and Classic Car Festival
After many months of preparations Alton Community Events (ACE) held their first Alton Village Festival on the weekend of 17th and 18th June 2017. Involving all of the village pubs there were all manner of activities across the weekend, from kids entertainments and vintage tea-room at the village hall to a makers street market on the High Street and beer festival in the pubs. Sunday also saw a large array of classic cars go on display around the village as well as continued musical entertainment and

Burns Night celebration Huge thanks to Jonathan Shepherd and Dee Beattie for the haggis, neeps and tatties, Julian Beattie for the rendition of the Robbie Burns poem, and Hattie Leedham and friend for their beautiful rendition of Scottish folk songs.
New Year's Eve party night

The parents and children from the village group gathered for a mini party with food and games to celebrate their first Christmas.
Queen's Birthday Party
Charity Comedy Night
Damian Kingsley, a professional stand up comic doing a tour of UK, from Landís End to Edinburgh for the homelessness Charity, Shelter. His challenge is to do 120 gigs (one a night) and get to Edinburgh using no money or public transport, while raising money for Shelter, the bad housing and homelessness charity. He had a great night at the White Hart and raised £237.00 for Shelter.
Knit & Stitch
Our regular Wednesday night craft group is back in full swing again. Bring along your choice of craft, enjoy a glass of something and chat about whatever.
With plenty of Scotch Whisky, Haggis, Poetry and Tartan the night was a raging success for all who attended. Even a cheeky caramel milk-stout from Scottish Brewery 'Fallen' for the adventurous drinkers.
Ageing Well Exercise Group
The White Hart has now been chosen as a venue by Age UK, with the backing of Support Staffordshire, to provide the local community with a new seated exercise class starting on Tuesday 19th Jan at 10.30am followed by a social time in the community Coffee Shop. New Manager - Heather Stanton
Welcome to our new live-in Manager, Heather Stanton, already well known as part of a family in Alton who are both Shareholders and active volunteers. Heather has moved from her home in Wales to join us.

Live Music Night with Dino and Dr Bern
Unfortunately Dr Shevlin had laryngitis on the night but being the trouper that he is he turned up anyway and played the piano for carol singing round the piano. Another great night. He has promised to come back with Dino and play for us soon as originally planned.

Remembrance Sunday 2015 (insert small logo picture blue square with poppy on white background)
We have received a thank you letter from Mr David Robins, on behalf of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. Mr Robins thanks the Shareholders and staff for making the event held on the morning of Remembrance Sunday such a tremendous success. He says that the hard work that everyone put in to make a success of the event that we organised, is truly appreciated. He wrote that 'The total raised by The White Hart was £161.40, a wonderful effort. Again please accept my sincere thanks for all your efforts and substantial contribution.' Thank you too, to all our customers for your support too and those who contributed to this worthwhile appeal at The White Hart.

Christmas Laugh & Craft Event
A great event was held with a demonstration of making Christmas wreaths and table decorations by Lacey Gunton-Bunn, followed by a fun night as we tried to assemble our own! Some photos on the Alton (Staffs) Facebook group.

Carols Round the Piano
On Sunday evening Rev'd Brian Leathers from Alton St Peter's Church came to play the piano for Christmas carol singing around the piano to help support the White Hart. We had several kind offers of mince pies from volunteers.

Christmas Quiz Night
This Christmas themed (and not easy!) quiz was run by our Chairman, Tom Wilkinson, and held on behalf of Veterans in Action. A good sum of £100 was raised by the raffle.

The White Hart 1st Birthday Party
A great Birthday Party was held to celebrate our 1st year of being a Community Hub and to thank our great volunteers for all their help. A huge buffet was provided (once more provided by our volunteers - brilliant lot!)
